This was our first day in Vang Vieng, Laos. After a long drive from Vientiane, we checked into our room as fast as we could. Then headed for the waterfalls, a fun river boat ride up the river, and finished our day just before the sunset with a nice dinner consisting of BBQ Chicken (Ping Gai), Papaya Salad (Tamahoung), and a nice Tiger beer.

Tips:  We stayed at the River View Bungalows right next to the river and it was great!  Our room was clean and nice, with a front porch overlooking the river, and window facing the river too!  Best part was it was about $24 USD.  Lookup River View Bungalows in Vang Vieng using this link for a good deal… BOOKING.COM  Another nice place to try might be Vieng Tara Villa
